Nelson Carrinho, CEO of the Carrinho Group, used the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, to announce a $1.1 billion investment in various regions of Angola, with a focus on the network of silos along the Lobito Corridor and in the country’s most productive provinces.
At the meeting, the Angolan businessman presented his company’s trajectory to French and African partners, listing projects already in operation, such as a sugar refinery, a soybean extruder, and a grain terminal in Lobito—investments that reflect the group’s commitment to the national food chain.
Cooperation with France was given special emphasis. Nelson Carrinho highlighted the contribution of a French entity that has been supplying silos to Angola for five years and argued that the country must move forward, without delay, toward full accession to the SADC agreement, as a decisive step toward the consolidation of free trade at the continental level.
